testdisk and hfs+ filesystem

Postby vince66 » Sun Jan 28, 2018 6:04 am

I'm trying to extract data from an Hard disk HFS+ formatted. I've used Testdisk, but it seems that it doesn't support HFS/HFS+ filesystem.

Please, can you tell me if is this a implementation problem of Testdisk or maybe I need to install of specific libraries ? Again: or maybe I need to configure Testdisk so it supports HFS/HFS+ filesystem ?

Thanks in advance.

Best Regards.

TestDisk does support HFS/HFS+. Both TestDisk and PhotoRec are fantastic tools written by Christophe Grenier and I'm glad to hear you're using them. I have a few questions:

What OS are you using to run TestDisk?

Where did you get the binary? Did you compile it yourself?

What sort of errors are you getting or does it simply not find the partition(s)?
