improving integration on osx

Postby gonzo » Tue Apr 04, 2017 7:53 am

Hi, i was wondering if anyone here has looked into extending the interface of the kit so that the kit can run with elevated right more easily.

Right now, I need to run the kit with elevated rights on OSX (Linux would be the same for that matter) to be able to read any raw data of some media. This mean I have to start it with sudo.
That's not really user friendly so I am looking into the 'proper' way of giving a normal user enough rights to run the kit on some media. (and write some descriptive log records of who is opening what)
And with proper, I mean the Apple way.

I don't want to start a discussion on why and how we probably need to bend over backwards to get this fitted into the Apple way of doing things, but I am looking for input that can give me a head start.

I can imaging someone already did something already, maybe even posted it online, it's just that I did not find anything.

Appreciate any input!

Gonzo.
