Latest libewf experimental release no longer links

Postby gregfreemyer » Tue May 03, 2016 2:06 am

With the latest libewf experimental 20160224 I get this error:

[ 296s] ../../tsk/.libs/libtsk.so: undefined reference to `libewf_handle_read_random'

Removal of the "random" functions is documented in the Changelog file for libewf experimental so I assume they won't be coming back for the actual release. (It's been about 2 years since libewf had a non-experimental release, but Joachim has done a couple experimental releases this year.)

I am also seeing this same problem. I cannot build TSK using libewf if there is no libewf which works with TSK. What is the solution to this ? From where can I get a version of libewf which works with TSK ? I see there is a 64-bit version but can I build that as a 32-bit version also ?

As mentioned in an email thread, older libewf releases can be found here too:

And to answer the question, yes you can build the 32-bit version with the code that we maintain at github. You just change the platform from within Visual Studio in the pull down at the top.

Hi, the link for older libewf releases is dead. Are older versions still hosted and available somewhere?

I need to build libtsk with libewf, however TSK doesn't link with any available versions of libewf (which is now only hosted on Github: https://github.com/libyal/libewf and https://github.com/libyal/legacy/tree/master/libewf).

Thanks.
